Having begun his career as pro audio was transitioning from analog to digital, Arj mastered both realms from an early age.
As a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, he understands
every step of the creative process--from writing and arranging
to pre-production, recording, mixing, and mastering.
He marries analog techniques and digital technology to deliver
a richer, more unique sound.
Arjun "Arj" is a veteran producer, engineer, songwriter, and performer. He got his start working for a decade at premier NYC recording studio Stratosphere Sound, which was built around a vintage Neve 8068 console.
There he worked closely with the studio owners, Grammy winner James Iha (Smashing Pumpkins, A Perfect Circle) and Grammy- and Emmy-winner Adam Schlesinger (Fountains of Wayne, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend), and engineered hundreds of other sessions for major labels, independent artists, television and film.
His past clients have included Depeche Mode, Michael Stipe (REM), Hole, America, Television, Mercury Rev, Secret Machines, KT Tunstall, Comedy Central, Saturday Night Live, Disney, Nickelodeon, Adam Franklin (Swervedriver), Drew Barrymore and Hugh Grant, among many others. He also
co-founded the Still Out, producing their first album at Stratosphere.
Arj now owns his own production company, Popscream Music, and studio in the heart of Brooklyn's Dumbo neighborhood. Here he produces all manner of audio for artists, podcasts, film, television, and apps.

He uses his eclectic experience and perspective to the client's advantage - marrying analog techniques with the latest in digital technology to create a modern sound that is richer and differentiates his client's work.
Arj is available to produce any genre or content having worked with an eclectic mix of styles, people, and companies over the years. He is also a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter. In addition to the Still Out, he founded Modern Secrets and plays in many bands. He currently plays in NYC psych rock outfit Heaven.
